Year 10 Cambridge University Outreach Visit
We were fortunate to have the opportunity to take 10 students to an outreach session at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge on Thursday 1st February. Our students had the chance to find out about the possibilities of studying at Cambridge, and interaction with existing students to answer their questions.
Millie Laming’s reflection on the visit is below.
Mrs Spencer, Director of Studies, Year 10
The Cambridge trip was something I had looked forward to, and the college itself was akin to stepping into a slightly modernised Hogwarts!
We had an introduction to the college and post 16 and 18 education, something of which was extremely interesting and felt very applicable for all of us to start considering, along with a talk from some undergraduates to get their perspectives- something that felt very insightful.
We also got a tour of the college, including student accommodation and its library, all of which were beautifully decorated and well-designed (a mix of olden and more modern architecture)- to be able to walk around somewhere so prestigious and almost magical was such an experience.
I’m so grateful to have been given this opportunity, and I think it has really opened my eyes to possibilities for the future.
