We were seated high, but the angle was good, and we got a great view of the stage. From the very first scene, the show pulled everyone in as everyone physically leaned forwards with intrigue!

The production was visually stunning, from its detailed set design and costume choices to the rich lighting and choreography; everything worked together remarkably to create the glamour and excess of Gatsby’s world. The musical numbers felt meaningful and well-placed, supporting the story rather than interrupting it. They helped bring out the emotions in the characters, especially in scenes where words wouldn’t have made the same impact. I was impressed by how well the cast and set design created a contrast between surface-level luxury and what’s hidden away underneath.

After the performance, some of us waited by the stage door and got to meet the cast, including Corbin Bleu, who we had recognised as Chad from High School Musical, which was a fun surprise. Everyone was really friendly, and some of us even got our tickets signed by the cast! Thank you to Ms Hanington and Mr Griffin for going with us on the trip, and an even bigger one to Mrs Moreton for arranging it all even though she couldn’t go!
