Our company, Heavy Hugs, sells 1.2kg weighted teddy bears, with the purpose of reducing stress and anxiety and promoting the release of serotonin and dopamine. This event consisted of pitching the product, undergoing an interview and presenting the product to several schools as well as the judges.

This was a fun day meeting some new people as well as familiar faces from previous trade fairs. Although this was at the time of the Year 12 exams, we were able to tackle the challenge of creating a presentation in a limited amount of time, whilst making sure it was engaging to market our product. It was a great experience for all of us to develop new skills and discuss our journey to the final product.

At the end of the event, we were able to win the award for ‘Best Presentation’, which was a true reflection of the effort we put into making it engaging and displaying the beauty of our weighted bears. Although we didn’t make it to the next stage of the competition, we gained valuable lessons from this experience.

We are very grateful for all the support that we’ve received from everyone in helping us throughout this process, especially Mrs Harris, but the Heavy Hugs journey still doesn’t stop here. We are still continuing to make a difference for all people, and we look forward to seeing what else is in store for us.
