Three major cheats coming up...
- Respond to anxious thoughts with 'noted, moving on'. Studies show that 91% of worries never actually happen. Your brain is worrying about a future that statistically won't happen.
- Dance/ walk/ run/ play sport/ move when your mind gets stuck. Overthinking happens when energy gets trapped. Movement gives it an exit route and your brain can finally reset.
- Talk to yourself in third person when you are spiralling/ feeling overwhelmed. Self-distancing turns down the emotion so you can actually think.
