Year 11 Students Inspired by Visit to Brasenose College, University of Oxford

A group of our bright and motivated Year 11 students had the exciting opportunity to visit Brasenose College at the University of Oxford for a day of exploration, inspiration, and academic discovery.

Travelling by coach, the group arrived eager to experience one of the world’s most prestigious universities first hand.
The visit began with a guided tour of the college and wider university, led by former Bexley Grammar School students who are now studying at Oxford. Hearing directly from alumni made the experience especially meaningful, as our students were able to see how individuals from the same school community had successfully made the journey to a top university.
The day proved to be truly eye-opening. From walking through historic quads to learning about Oxford’s academic life, the students gained valuable insight into what university study can offer. Many described the visit as inspiring and motivating, with several reflecting that seeing alumni thriving at Oxford made them believe that achieving similar goals is genuinely within reach.
The trip not only broadened aspirations but also reinforced an important message.
Work hard, work with passion and determination and everything is possible.

“The experience provided insight into the prospects for those aiming for Russell Group universities. We met students that explored the Brasenose grounds and were quite amiable. I most enjoyed the exploration of libraries as a quiet space for the student.”
