Congratulations Devine!

Winner of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge, Regional Final.
Devine Kapu recently achieved a remarkable victory at the Bexley Regional Final of Jack Petchey's Speak Out Challenge, held on March 19th 2025. This prestigious event is part of the largest public speaking programme in England, managed by the Speakers Trust and supported by the Jack Petchey Foundation.
The competition saw 23 talented young speakers from the region, with a total of 622 participants taking part in the programme. Devine's winning speech, titled "Microaggressions," highlighted the pervasive impact of these subtle forms of racism on black individuals. The speech urged society to recognise, address, and eliminate microaggressions to foster a more inclusive environment.
Devine expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating, "The Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge has given me the courage to speak my mind, and I am so glad that I took part." This experience not only empowered her but also served as a platform to inspire others.
