Book Club News ~ TSBA and TSBA+

The Year 7 TSBA book club had lots of fun decorating cake toppers based on the books they had read that week.

They also decorated cake toppers for World Book Day based on their favourite books of all time, ranging from Lord of the Rings to Jujutsu Kaisen.

Our older students had their final TSBA+ book club, where they cast their votes for best book, and competed in a very enthusiastic kahoot quiz where Bailey was crowned champion. The students chose Meet Me At Midnight as their favourite book, a mystery/romance where the main characters begin meeting at midnight in their dreams, which leads them to question their reality when awake. We also submitted Aditi's beautiful painting based on this book for the Creative Response competition, the winner of which will be announced at the awards ceremony in March.

Please come up to the library to borrow the books that are now on display.

Book Club is amazing. I love Book Club as we get to read a variety of books that we maybe wouldn’t have read before. This time, we read books on the theme Dreams and Nightmares, including When Ghosts Call us Home by Katya De Becerra, Meet Me at Midnight by Brianna Bourne, Better Nightmare by Megan Freeman, Wild East by Ashley Hickson-Lovence and How Far We’ve Come by Joyce Efia Harmer. As a group, our favourites were Meet me at Midnight and Better Nightmare.

We did lots of activities based off of these books, such as book reviews and making trailers for the books.

I love the book club, and I’m really sad it’s over. I can’t wait for the next one.
