Trinity School Book Award Book Club

This week we finished our Trinity School Book Award book club, with a wonderfully creative group of readers.
Thank you to the PA for giving us the money to buy the books which the students have enjoyed so much, and to all the parents who have donated as part of the Library Lotto. Without your support, we would not be able to run all these book clubs, and it is very much appreciated. Please read some of the reviews to see all the things we have been up to.

Dreams and Nightmares
This term in the book club we have read a selection of books shortlisted for the Trinity Schools Book Award this year, called Dreams and Nightmares!
These included:
- AdelAIDE by Melissa Salisbury
- The Undying of Obedience Wellrest by Nicholas Bowling
- The Book of Stolen Dreams by David Farr
- Movies Showing Nowhere by Yorick Goldewijk
- The Last Storyteller by Donna Barba Higuera
- The Haunting of Tyrese Walker by J.P Rose
- Courage to Dream by Andrés Vera Martinez
- Postcards from Valhalla by Danny Weston
My favourite book that we read was Movies Showing Nowhere because the storyline was absolutely gripping and had lots of twists and turns. The ending was completely unexpected!
Overall, one of the things we really enjoyed were the activities. The activities in the book club varied each week. Some of them included
- Creating our own bookmarks based on one of the books.
- Dioramas (we created a key moment from our favourite book as a group using resources we provided pens, card, paint, clay, cardboard etc).
- Writing a script and acting a scene from the book.
- Enjoying reading and writing reviews for the books
- Devouring cookies every week (which Mrs Carey generously provided)!🍪
Esmae and Ada, Year 7 😃

In this book club, we read books based on dreams and nightmares. There were lots of amazing books and fun activities, such as making bookmarks, kahoot, and making a diorama based on the book, and we even got to eat cake at the end! It was an amazing experience, and if you're considering joining the next one, go for it!
