The TSBA Book Club

The TSBA Book Club has been running for the past couple of months, coming to an end last week. During those months, we got to read 6 books ranging across a variety of genres, including romance and historical fiction.

The group met every Thursday, and we took part in different activities, including planning a podcast and making a diorama, based off of a scene in one of the books we had read. These were then submitted into a competition, where the winner is still to be announced!

To round off the final meeting, we participated in a quiz, where it was a compilation of questions on the six books. Out of all the books I read, my favourite was The House In The Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune, which was the overall favourite of the club as well. The book is whimsical and slow-paced, but keeps you engaged, until the very end.

Overall, the book club was great fun and interesting, as well as introducing me to new books, outside the genres that I usually read, that I ended up enjoying greatly!

Caitlin Gorman, Year 10

I love book group as it is a place where I can read books I wouldn’t have read otherwise. This year we read An Echo in the City by KX Song, Hurricane Summer by Asha Bromfield, Seven Million Sunflowers by Malcom Duffy, The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune, The Stranded by Sarah Daniels and You Wouldn’t Catch Me Dead by Tess James-Mackey. As a group, from first impressions, we voted The Stranded our favourite. However, when we had read all the books, we voted The House in the Cerulean Sea as our favourite. I would like to say thank you to Mrs Carey for running the book group and being an amazing librarian.
