Canada Ski Trip 2026

We recently returned from an exciting ski trip to Canada, where we spent 7 days at Fernie Ski Slopes.

The trip was organised by Mrs Howard and Mr Lines, who gave us the opportunity to experience skiing in one of the world’s most impressive mountain regions. Everyone on the trip would love to say a big thank you to all the teachers involved. I am speaking for everyone when I say we all had a fantastic time, both on and off the slopes.

After departing from Heathrow, we arrived in Canada and travelled to our hotel, which was surrounded by the scenic views of the snow-capped mountain ranges that we would be attempting the following day. We settled into our hotel, which sported a huge swimming pool in the lobby, surrounded by chandeliers, as well as the treat of a sauna and hot tub which we made use of every day. The hotel served as our base for the duration of the trip and provided a comfortable place to relax after long days on the slopes, in which we could relax with our friends in which we shared a room.

Our ski lessons began, led by some amazing instructors who supported us each day and helped us all quickly progress despite our experience. We were split into groups based on ability and started by learning key skills on the first few days and by the end of it, some groups were hitting black and blue slopes, even jumps. One of our standout moments was all the groups stationed to take a photo at the highest peak, which showed how far we had come during the trip, both through confidence and skill.

Although skiing was the main focus, we also took part in a range of other activities, including a pizza night, a beautiful hike up Fairy Falls, watching Project Hail Mary at the theatre, which personally I sobbed at and alongside loads of free time to explore the area.  One of the highlights was definitely dinner each night in the hotel, which we all thoroughly enjoyed as the food was so tasty, and we all had a chance to debrief the day and relax.

On the last 2 days, we travelled to Vancouver, where we flew to a Delta Hotel to stay for the night and to celebrate the end of the trip, we enjoyed a 3-course meal at a pasta restaurant in the heart of the city which we all thoroughly enjoyed.

One of the most memorable moments on the trip, was building new connections with people, and I know I am not alone when I say I have made close bonds with people I never thought I would, from all year groups and have loved looking through all the photos and long-lasting memories I have made with such great people.

Thank you so much, Mrs Howard, Mr Lines, Mr Morgan, Mrs Quinton and Mrs Shrimpton, Chris from True North and all our instructors for making this a trip to remember.
