Year 10 Netball

Outstanding performance at the Year 10 Bexley borough tournament by our netballers. Lost only one game out of six.  Some super impressive defensive and centre court play, turning the ball around numerous times to feed into our shooters.  What a way to round off the season.

Very proud!  Well done all.

We're Super Proud!  Jonny Lawson Ex-BGS Student

We're really proud to say that former BGS student, Jonny Lawson, made his professional debut for Watford in a game against Stoke City on Saturday 14th March. He came off the bench as a substitute and played 20 minutes. If you'd like to read more, please see here.

Year 8 Boys' Football

I think that I can safely say that 6 a side matches are a strength for the Bexley Grammar Year 8 team.  We entered the tournament not knowing what we would face. Although we were slightly late, we did not let that faze us and began the competition playing our very own Bexley Grammar 2 team. We walked out of that game with a great start, having seen us swiftly score 4 goals with no response. We then beat St Columbas 2 team, 2-0, before having an unlucky loss to a Lift Academy (Bexleyheath) team.

Continuing on, we defeated a Lift Academy 1 team, and a Haberdashers 1 team, but then had an incredibly competitive match vs St Columba, one which we sadly could not win. We went on to win the rest of our games despite Pavel facing an injury during one of our matches. We managed to secure 2nd place in the tournament and I think I can proudly say I am very happy about the incredibly high quality of football the boys have been playing and the never-ending determination they have had through this season despite some hard losses. I would like to especially mention Jayden for netting 10 goals in the tournament and holding 5 assists, definitely keeping us high on the scoreboard, as well as Pavel, who displayed some absolute brilliant goalkeeping and resilience despite getting hit after hit.

Neev Chaganti, Year 8

Year 7 Boys' Fooball

Our team recently played in a football tournament at Bexleyheath Goals with several other schools with a lot of talent.  We knew that as a team we had to step up and put in all of our effort. Every match was highly competitive, and we won 2, lost 2 and drew 1. These games really gave our team the chance to test our skills and work together.

Although we did not progress to the next round, the experience was positive, and we improved as the tournament went on. It was a great opportunity to show our determination as a team against other schools. Everyone in our team gave it their all and enjoyed it, while also noting things that we could try to build on in the future.

Fletcher Bibby, Year 7

The tournament was very enjoyable as all I saw were smiles on my teammates' faces. The standard was high, and I am glad we met that standard. There was a lot of encouragement and cheer both on the way to and during the tournament. After a few challenging games, we were pleased to get a win and finish 4th overall.

Harry Shrimpton, Year 7

Year 7 & 8 Basketball

Great wins on Monday for the Year 7 and 8 basketball teams vs Hurstmere. The Year 8s won 26-6, while the Year 7s raced to a 38-0 win.

Well played boys!
