Our Year 7 dodgeball team had a great time competing with our friends at Hurstmere and St Columba’s on Wednesday afternoon.
Well played everyone!

Year 8 Netball
We welcomed Blackheath for our Year 8 netball game. It wasn’t to be a win, but we have the Easter tournament at the end of term to look forward to.
Well done to Mariah, Nell, Amayah and Maria who were voted as opposition players.
Good job ladies!

Year 7 Netball Tournament
On Tuesday, our Year 7 A and B netball teams travelled to Lift Bexleyheath, to compete in the Borough Tournament, and both squads represented BGS superbly throughout the afternoon.
Our B team played extremely well, growing in confidence with each game and developing brilliantly as a squad. Several matches were closely contested, but the girls showed great determination and teamwork in every performance. They should be very proud of their efforts and the progress they made over the course of the tournament.
The A team made an outstanding start, winning their first two matches 8–0. They demonstrated some excellent attacking netball, with fast, accurate through-court play that left our defence with very little to do. The shooting circle worked seamlessly, converting opportunities with confidence and consistency. The team maintained this high standard throughout the pool stages, finishing top of their group and progressing straight through to the final.

In the final, we faced Chislehurst and Sidcup. We started a little slowly, but as the game developed we found our rhythm and began to settle into our style of play. Unfortunately, the momentum shift came just a little too late, and we narrowly lost 2–1 in a tightly contested match.
All players involved were fantastic and a real credit to BGS. The standard of netball on display was a joy to watch. Well done to everyone who took part!
A big thank you to our Year 10 coaches and umpires: Shriya, Lois, Sophia and Isabella!
Ms Leffen, PE Department

KS3 boys' Badminton
Our KS3 boys had a great afternoon of badminton at St Olave’s on Thursday afternoon. Games were tightly contested and played to excellent standards of skill and sportsmanship.
In the end, each school won 3 matches, which seemed a very fair result.
Well played everyone!

U13 girls' cricket
Our U13 girls produced some excellent cricket in the Kent indoor 8s at Sevenoaks on Friday.
They secured a great win over Chislehurst & Sidcup and scored an impressive 59 in 8 overs against the national outdoor champions. What was most impressive was their progress throughout the day.
Well played girls!
Mr Lines

U13 Girls' Football
The U13 team produced an outstanding performance in their match against Blackheath High, securing an impressive 13–1 victory. It was a fantastic team display from start to finish, with the players demonstrating confidence, teamwork, and attacking intent across the pitch. The match was particularly notable as three players were making their debuts for the team. Despite this, the squad settled quickly and worked brilliantly together, showing great composure in possession and determination both in attack and defence. The team’s energy and positive play ensured they maintained control throughout the game, creating numerous chances and converting them with some excellent finishing. Every player contributed to what was a truly collective effort, with strong performances in all areas of the pitch. The defensive unit remained organised and resilient, the midfield worked tirelessly to link play, and the forwards consistently looked dangerous going forward.
A special mention goes to Delilah, who was deservedly voted Player of the Match. Delilah delivered an excellent performance in attack, demonstrating great skill, movement, and determination while contributing significantly to the team’s goal tally.
Overall, it was a superb evening for the U13 squad. The result reflects not only the team’s talent but also their hard work and growing confidence as they continue to develop together.
Congratulations to all the players on a fantastic performance and to the debutants on making such a positive start.
Thank you to Finlay and Harry (Year 12) for officiating the match.
