Our Talented KS3 Sports Teams

Year 7 Rugby
The Year 7 rugby team won their first match on Wednesday against our friends at Hurstmere. The boys fought back from 10-0 down to win 10-15 with a try to win the game with the last play. A really brave performance from the boys, none of whom had ever played a full game before. Well done!

Year 7 Netball
A brilliant start to the netball season. Our fantastic Year 7 team won 21-1 against Cleeve Park in a very impressive display of skill and teamwork. We have over 30 girls attending training every Wednesday and everyone has worked very hard to improve. Next up… Blackheath High, where two teams will take part in the fixture. Good luck girls & keep up the good work!

BGS v Blackheath High School
Our Year 7 netball teams faced Blackheath High School in what proved to be a challenging but valuable experience. Both teams came up against very experienced and talented opponents, resulting in defeats.
Despite the losses, it was encouraging to see how much the teams grew in skill, strength, and teamwork throughout the game. The players demonstrated determination and resilience, gaining important experience that will help them develop further.
Players of the Match were voted by the opposition:
Team 1’s Demi was recognised for her fantastic work in attack across a range of positions, while Hollie was awarded for her fierce fighting for the ball in defence. A special mention goes to Kaito, for her brilliant defensive skills throughout the game.
We now return to training with a focus on building skills, boosting confidence, and preparing for the next fixture. With continued effort and commitment, the future looks bright for our Year 7 netballers.

Year 7 Football
The Year 7 boys continued their excellent start to the season with a 4–1 victory over Charles Darwin in the second round of the Kent Cup. It was an impressive all-round squad performance, with three debutants fitting in seamlessly and contributing to a confident team display.
Goals came from Ade, Fletcher, Jonah, and Kai, showcasing the team’s attacking depth. Arman was also outstanding in goal, making several key saves to maintain control of the match.
The team now progress to the next round after half-term, where they’ll look to continue their strong form.
