Women's football Euros 2025

What an unforgettable summer! Our incredible Lionesses reached the EURO 2025 final as the defending champions held their nerve to retain the title after a nail-biting penalty shoot-out. The semi-final clash against Italy was a thriller right up to the final whistle and through to extra time. What a performance, what passion, what resilience. This team truly embodies what it means to never give up.

A massive thank you to the Lionesses for inspiring the next generation. You’ve shown young girls across the country what’s possible, not just in football, but in all sports. You’ve lifted England high with pride and opened doors for so many to follow.

It’s something we at BGS hope to inspire in our own students too, by encouraging every girl to get involved and believe in themselves both on and off the pitch.

Exam Success

Congratulations to all our GCSE and IB students who received their results in the summer. Exceptional and well-deserved grades for the Year 13s who have secured places for their onwards journey. Another successful year with a 100% pass rate for both SL and HL, alongside a 100% pass rate for our GCSE students achieving all grades 9–4. We are looking forward to a promising 2025-2026.

Celebrating success at BGS

What about our sporting achievements at BGS? We know some students are quietly modest about their successes, but we would love to celebrate their achievements. If your child has represented their district, County, Borough or shown success in their sport, we would love to know. We are also keen for volunteers to help run these practices or assist with the officiating aspect of the games to help further our sporting opportunities. Come and see one of us in the PE office to see how you can help.
