End of the Year Sports News Round Up 15/7/25

U13 regional cricket runners-up!

The U13 girls cricket team have been on a roll this season, smashing competitions with their fierce bowling and powerful batting.

It’s been a pleasure to see all the pupils taking part in a range of friendly and competitive games.  Thursday 3rd July saw them become runners-up in the regional final against a tough team from Surrey. What a season it’s been for them!  Well done to all involved.

A huge thank you to our new qualified cricket leader, Shriya, for being the assistant coach and taking on the scoring.
A good job well done!

Cheer London Allstarz

Well done to our brilliant cheerleaders who worked as leaders and provided a demonstration for the Cheer London Allstarz school event in Crystal Palace last week. Emily (Year 8) explains what was involved:

I found the cheer competition an extremely fun experience. We got to spend the day being young ambassadors and helping out with some of the younger teams which we were allocated from the 20 or so that took part. This helped teach us to be good role models and experience coaching. After all the primary school teams had performed, we had the opportunity to showcase our cheer routine. This was the highlight of my day as we got to perform as a team and face our fears.

I feel that we did a great job in our routine, and we were awarded a trophy for being young ambassadors and part of the exhibition. Overall, the day was amazing!

Cricket friendly

Our last competitive fixture was a friendly cricket match vs Bexleyheath Academy.  It was a great chance to give some new players a run for their first game.

Well played everyone!
