National School Sports Week 2025 ~ Part 2

Thursday 19th June

U13 Girls Cricket Mote Park Finals

On 19th June, our Bexley Grammar School girls’ U13 cricket team played in the 'Chance to Compete' tournament at Mote Park Cricket Club.  It was such an exciting day! We played two matches. We won against Highworth Grammar but lost to Sir Roger Manwood by only one wicket!  Even though we didn’t win all our games, we came as runners-up, and now we’re super proud to be going through to the Regional competition to represent Kent on 3rd July!

There were loads of amazing moments in the games. Latika Chandran bowled an incredible maiden over and Nehi Rajkarnikar and Maria Benedict smashed some brilliant boundaries. Faye Kemp took a fantastic catch right on the boundary too. It was epic! Aarohi Joglekar and Faye both got Player of the Match for their awesome all-round performances.

We were all buzzing when we got our silver medals and even more excited that we qualified for the next round. Let’s go Bexley Grammar. Bring on the Regionals!

Faye Kemp and Aarohi Joglekar, Year 8

Champions! Well done to our U13 girls’ cricket team, who were crowned Kent Outdoor Eights champions after beating Kent College in the semi-final, and Weald of Kent in the final at Mote Park on Thursday. Dominant batting, precise bowling and committed fielding were the keys to victory.

Well-played girls!

Year 9 Cricket
Who needs 11 players? An outstanding job by the eight Year 9 cricketers resulted in a 19-run win over Beths in a great game.  Another captain’s innings of 50 from Ethan set us on our way, with great bowling and fielding from the whole team securing a good win. Well played boys!

Year 7 & 9 Rounders
Our Year 7 & 9 rounders teams were in action on Wednesday with some fantastic performances on display.

Year 7 played against Cleeve Park and demonstrated excellent teamwork and a strong understanding of the game. Their efforts paid off with a well-deserved 12.5 – 8 win. A brilliant display of communication and tactical play throughout!

Year 9 faced a competitive Townley Grammar side. After a strong first innings, we led 6.5 to 6 thanks to some sharp batting. However, Townley came back with an impressive second innings, and despite our determined effort, the match finished 12 – 9.5 in Townley’s favour. A valuable learning experience, with lots of positives to take forward.

Well done to all involved!

KS3 Boys' Tennis
A huge well done to our KS3 boys' tennis team who beat a strong Hurstmere side 10-8 in our friendly match on Tuesday.

Well-played boys!
