Year 9 Rounders

Our Year 9 rounders team took on Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School in a competitive set of fixtures on Wednesday.

Across three matches, there was a fantastic display of skill, teamwork, and determination from all involved.

The opening two games were mixed matches, with CSGS edging the overall result, winning 3 games to our 1. Despite the results, there were some excellent individual and team performances, particularly on the field, with sharp catching and well-organised teamwork on display.

The final round saw our A and B teams go head-to-head with their respective CSGS counterparts. Both games were tightly contested and low-scoring; a testament to the quality of fielding from all sides. Our A team came out on top with a 3.5 – 2 win, while the B team secured a solid 4 – 2.5 victory.

Some brilliant rounders played throughout the afternoon. Well done to all players for their commitment and sportsmanship.

Great work, Year 9!

International U14s Basketball Tournament, Wimereux, France

Last weekend, two of our BGS Year 9 students, Fabio de Jongh and Velizar Dimitrov, both from 9LGD Collins House, participated in the annual International U14s Basketball Tournament held in Wimereux, France. It took place from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th June 2025, and is where they proudly represented England.

The event comprised a total of 20 basketball teams, from countries including Belgium, Canada, England, France, Lithuania, Romania and Slovenia.

Their basketball club, Kent Panthers, achieved an impressive 4th place, after finishing 1st in their qualifying group, which is also the club's best result to date at this tournament.

Congratulations Ellyona!

Well done to Ellyona for securing her place with Charlton Football club for the 2025–2026 season!  This is a fantastic achievement and a true testament to her hard work, talent, and determination.  Earning a spot at such a competitive level is no small feat and Ellyona has proven she has what it takes to rise to the challenge.

Congratulations!
