Languages

Students take Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) or Latin at A Level to develop communication, cultural awareness, and analytical skills. MFL encourages fluency in languages like French, Spanish, or German, while Latin enhances understanding of language structure, history, and literature.

Co-curricular opportunities include language clubs, international trips, debating in foreign languages, exchange programs, Latin reading groups, or classical societies, which deepen cultural and linguistic experience. These A Levels support university courses in Languages, Classics, Linguistics, or International Relations at universities such as Bristol, Bath, UCL, SOAS, or Durham. Graduates often pursue careers in translation, diplomacy, teaching, law, publishing, tourism, or international business.
