BGS Model United Nations team at the Interschool Model United Nations Conference

On Thursday 2nd July, selected students of the BGS Model United Nations team had the privilege of attending Dartford Grammar School for Boys' Interschool Model United Nations conference.

It was an amazing day of discussion, debate, and collaboration where students had the opportunity to use the skills acquired in practice sessions running from December 2025, effectively applying these to current geopolitical concerns.

The topics on the agenda for the debate were:

  • Global Vaccination Frameworks
  • The Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza
  • The Global Narcotics Trafficking Problem
  • The Problem of Global Pollution Levels

In MUN, there are no winners or losers because the aim of the session is to come to an agreement together. However, there were awards given out by the chairs of the committees.

Bexley Grammar won the following awards:

  • Most professional delegates: Mia Nguyen (Canada) and Darina Mitkova (Japan)

  • Best public speaker: Louis Luckman (USA)

  • Best Problem Solver: Anastasia Wahba (Brazil)

  • Most representative of their state: Jacob Flottweg (Venezuela)

  • Most passionate speakers: Kanyinsola Maitanmi (Russia) and Jomiloju Omoyajowo (Ukraine)

We are incredibly proud of our team who put in countless hours of preparatory research and practice; this was our first interschool conference, and we are delighted to have gained this valuable experience and a chance to network with like-minded delegates from Dartford Grammar School for Boys' and Townley Grammar School for Girls'.
