We invited the students with the most attendances at our co-curricular sports clubs to reward them for their dedication and commitment. The students also enjoyed some dodge-ball cricket and a game of relay cricket with the Kent community coaches. It was great to see England captain Ben Stokes playing for Durham, too.

Year 8 Girls' cricket

The return from half-term saw the Year 8 cricket team play our friendly rivals at Blackheath. The result didn’t go our way, but a good learning experience with Rose, Nehi and Isabella voted as players of the match.

Well done! We go again in a few weeks' time.

 

U13 & U15 Cricket

We had a really fun afternoon in the sunshine playing with our friends at Chislehurst & Sidcup at U13 and U15.

Both games ended in defeat, unfortunately, but our teams produced some excellent performances.

Well done to all the players!

 

Year 10 Cricket

Another good effort for the 8-man Year 10 cricket team on Thursday. Dodging the showers, they were only beaten by 29 runs against Wilmington GS.

 

Bexley Athletics Championships

Wednesday 20th May saw the annual Year 9 & 10 Bexley Athletics Championships take place at Erith Stadium. With a full team, BGS participated in every event and represented themselves superbly throughout the day.

We achieved some excellent results across the competition. Notable performances included 3rd place finishes for Caitlin in the 1500m and Spiros in the 400m. Securing 2nd place were Sammy in the Shot Put, Florrie in the 300m, and Dan in the Discus. There were also some outstanding first-place performances, with Olivia winning the Javelin, Ryan also taking victory in the Javelin, and Kevin claiming 1st place in the Triple Jump.

Well done to all involved and a huge thank you to our Sixth Form prefects who led the squad and helped on the day.

The Junior Bexley Athletics Championships will take place in June.
