Year 8 ~ Spring Term Artwork

This term, Year 8 students explored perspective and developed their technical drawing skills, focusing on objects, buildings, and letters using one-point perspective.

For their final piece, students were inspired by the work of Bob and Roberta Smith, particularly his use of bold text and powerful messages in art. Looking at his distinctive 3D letter styles, students worked collaboratively to create a piece of artwork using felt.

Each class voted on a positive message and hand-sewed an individual letter. These letters were then combined to create colourful bunting.

  • 8XY/AR1 chose the message: “The rest is still unwritten.”
  • 8W/AR3 chose the message: “Today is going to be a good day.”

The finished work looks fantastic and is now proudly on display in the canteen! Thank you Year 8 for the inspiring bunting you created just in time for World Book Day!
