PE News 21/1/26

Two Year 7 teams took on Eltham Hill on Tuesday afternoon in an exciting set of netball fixtures.

BGS Pink started slowly, losing their first game 7–0 to Eltham Hill Blue. However, the team settled well in their second game and produced some fantastic netball to secure a convincing 4–1 win. This followed some excellent shooting from Dhwani, supported by strong attacking and defensive play through the centre by Demi. Caitlin and Demi were deservedly named Players of the Match.

BGS Blue secured an early victory, winning their first game 5–0 against Eltham Hill Green. The defensive unit was unstoppable across both games, making numerous interceptions throughout. This strong defensive performance earned Grace and Isabella Players of the Match. In their second game, Eltham Hill managed to edge a close contest, winning 2–1.

Some great netball was on display by all teams – well done to everyone involved.

Year 7 & 8 Basketball

Basketball is up and running, with the Year 8s winning 22-2, and the Year 7s winning 24-10 against our friends from Cleeve Park. The wins came from brilliant defensive efforts in particular this week.

Well done everyone!

The Year 7B team got off to a flyer against a strong Bexleyheath Lift Academy team on Tuesday, racing into a 2-0 lead, before succumbing to a 6-2 defeat. There was lots of impressive play, and plenty of reason for optimism.

Well played!

U13 girls' football

We were sadly defeated by a talented Cleeve Park, but there was an opportunity to practice officiating skills on the sideline in this friendly game too.

Well done to Emilia and Ziva for strong performances all round!
