PE News 19/11/25

Thank you!

Our KS3 basketball teams will look brilliant in their new kits for this season, which have been kindly donated by a parent.

They replace our old kits which were 20 years old! We are very grateful for the donation, as always.

Year 7 Rugby

The Year 7 rugby team continued their unbeaten run with a terrific 20-10 win over Cleeve Park on Monday. Tries from Chidubem, Michael, Leo and Ayaansh sealed the win. Well played!

Year 8 Rugby

The Year 8 rugby team put together their most complete performance, as they defeated St George’s 25-15. It was a fantastic game against a quality opponent, who had a lot more experience than us. Well played boys!

KS3 Girls' Football

The Key Stage 3 footballers were in action against Bexleyheath. It was an improvement on our last meeting and great that they were given the chance to learn a new skill as a linesperson too. Great work ladies!

Year 7 Netball

Wednesday was a brilliant evening for netball with nearly 40 Year 7 girls taking part! Our A and B teams faced Chislehurst & Sidcup Grammar School, while the rest of the group enjoyed some training matches in preparation for their upcoming fixtures against Cleeve Park next week.

Our A team came away with a 6–4 win, with Delilah named Player of the Match for her excellent performance in the shooting circle. The B team fought hard in a close contest, narrowly losing 5–4, finishing with a fantastic final quarter. Jigeesha was awarded Player of the Match for great play in a variety of positions.

A superb evening of effort, teamwork, and enthusiasm from all involved; well done all!

Year 8 Netball

A convincing win against Trinity for the Year 8 netball team playing in a multitude of positions too. Well done; the hard work is paying off!

A defeat for the Year 8 netball team against St Matthews. There is plenty of time to practice ready for a rematch in the new year. Well done to our player of the match, Nell, for her excellent defensive work as GD.

Swimming Gala at Colfe's

We enjoyed another excellent gala at Colfe’s this week, where our U18, U16 and U14 boys represented the school with distinction. The team secured an overall 1st place finish, demonstrating consistency and determination across all events. The final squadron race proved a highlight, with BGS claiming victory by over a length ahead of the other competitors.

A special mention goes to Misha, Gabriel and Amrit, who each won their respective races and made an outstanding contribution to the team’s success. Congratulations to all swimmers involved for their hard work and impressive performances throughout the evening.
