Platinum Jubilee Summer Fayre & Sports Day - Cancelled

MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER

Good morning all,

Unfortunately I'm afraid that tomorrow's Summer Fayre and Sports Day has been cancelled.

We have been following the weather closely this week and were hopeful that the event would be able to go ahead. However, with the Met Office forecasting thunderstorms in Bexley tomorrow, it simply wouldn't be safe or sensible to hold a public outdoor event.

Monday remains a non-school day as I'm sure many of you had made plans before these unforeseen circumstances.

We would like to reschedule the event for later this term and, if that is possible, further details will be communicated to you.

Best wishes,

H.J. Gilmore

Bexley Grammar School 2005-2025 - A History Continued

As part of the Bexley Grammar School's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Head of English Mr Dan Griffin (with the help of numerous others) has compiled a brief history of the last twenty years of the school, intended to supplement the late Mr Robin Ackerley's book of 2005 which detailed the first fifty (Mr Ackerley was a previous Head of English).

It will be officially launched at the Platinum Jubilee Summer Fayre on Saturday 7th June (at the BGS Books stall), but you can pre-order a copy by emailing enquiries@bexleygs.co.uk.  It is only a slim volume, but it is professionally published, 100 pages long and in full colour (with plenty of pictures!), priced £10.  With sections on sporting achievements, house events, musicals, trips, staff past and present and more, it is a must-have for anyone with a connection to the BGS community.  Any proceeds made will go to the School Fund.
