BGS V Beths
On Tuesday, Bexley Grammar faced Beth’s Grammar at home. The result of the match ended in a 4-1 victory for Beths Grammar School. The goalscorers for Beths Grammar were Kayode with 2, Jessie with one, and their number 5 with one. The goalscorer for Bexley Grammar school was Reese with one.
Beths started the game on a wet, gloomy afternoon, scoring the first three goals (one being a penalty), being dominant and keeping good possession of the ball. However, Bexley Grammar didn’t give up and managed to sneak a goal in before half-time, ending the half at 3-1 to Beths.
It was a good contest in the second half, with Bexley Grammar playing good passes, but Beths Grammar pulled through to score another goal, ending the match at 4-1.
It was a great performance from both teams. Despite the loss to Bexley Grammar, everyone worked hard and played well!

Hurstmere V BGS
On Wednesday 5th February, Bexley Grammar School faced Hurstmere, away. The match ended 9-0 to Hurstmere. Even though we suffered a heavy loss, I think we played quite well. In the first 15 minutes of the match, the other team scored a couple early goals, so we didn't have the best start. The rest of the half we had some good plays, and we linked up very well in midfield. About 5 or 10 minutes before the half-time whistle, we had our best play of the half as Onyi made a great run down the wing and then crossed it in to me at the edge of the box.
Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to connect well with the ball and I sent the shot wide. In the second half, we could notice the difference. All of us were more awake and we definitely held our ground. We played excellent passes in the middle and started many more counter-attacks.
Overall, I think that we still need to make improvements and even though we lost the game, it left a positive learning experience for all of us and gave us a great example of what top level teams can be like.
