Year 8 Maths Diploma

For their Maths Diploma, Year 8 students were tasked with a statistical investigation of data which they had researched and/or collected themselves. Our hardworking students came up with some intriguing ideas - from asking their friends to identify their favourite food, to looking at the numbers associated with their favourite sports team or video game, to measuring how many kick-ups students of different ages can perform on the football pitch!

They then used the statistical techniques they’ve been learning in lessons - including pie charts, bar charts, stem and leaf diagrams, box plots, cumulative frequency graphs, scatter graphs, linear correlation and regression, statistical summary calculations, and more - to study their data and to produce a report or poster of their analysis. Some of their excellent work can be seen below.

Good job, Year 8!

Dylan is running the Greenwich and Bexley Mini Marathon in memory of his Dad, Matt Banks

I am running the mini-marathon for Greenwich and Bexley Hospice in memory of my Dad, Matt Banks. It’s the 11th anniversary of the event and I want to support them again as they gave my Dad very important end of life care.

This year will be my last mini-marathon, and I am so grateful to have taken part these last three years, and who knows, maybe I'll do a full marathon one day! And beat my Dad's best time, of course.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

Rock Climbing

A great start to the Year 10 GCSE PE practical with 23 students taking part in the 3-day climbing course to complete their coursework at Lower Grange Farm in Maidstone.

Progressive skills and steep climbs were overcome, with students achieving some high scores. With a new set of skills and great learning experience for all students, the assessment is now complete. Well done to everyone that took part!

Rounders Club

Rounders club is under way with rain trying to stop play. The joys of the British weather keep us guessing, but it doesn’t put a damper on these Year 8s. Smiles all round!

Cricket Coaching for Girls'

This term we’ve been lucky to secure a cricket coach for the girls on Tuesdays after school. All are welcome to join.

We have fixtures scheduled against Blackheath, Bromley and Chis and Sid this term to put into practice the skills learnt. A busy term ahead.

Lauriann's
STEM Club

At Lauriann's STEM Club, we want to help narrow the gap between the number of men and the number of women who work within the STEM industries.

We aim to do this by encouraging young students, particularly those who are female or from minority ethnic backgrounds to pursue a career in science, technology and engineering. We promote diversity in these fields, and we want to present positive role models to help inform, inspire and motivate all students.

Lauriann's STEM Club is the brainchild of Lauriann Williams, who is a passionate Civil Engineer who uses her own experiences to help support diversity in engineering.

Ofsted - The Big Listen

We want to hear your views!

The National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) is carrying out a short survey on behalf of Ofsted. We want to hear from parents/carers of children who are under 18 years old. It should only take around 10 minutes to complete. We are interested in the views of, and any experiences with, Ofsted, including Ofsted’s inspection, regulation and reporting practices. We really want to hear from a wide range of parents and carers, even if you don’t have strong opinions about Ofsted, or haven’t had much experience of Ofsted.

Please click on the following link to find out more or take part in the survey:

You can look at our Taking Part webpage for more information about the research, and our Privacy Notice for what will happen to any information you give. Links to these webpages are also included in the survey.
