It's not too late to support Layla

Layla Evans in Year 12 is taking part in a "Pretty Muddy 5k" as a fundraiser for Cancer research. She explains her motivation below:

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives.

When I was 5, my dad passed away from cancer, and it changed all of my family's lives. I would love to raise as much money as I can to help support cancer research and save as many lives as possible, so fewer people have to suffer, and fewer families have to lose the ones they love. Research gives families hope, and it gives people more time, more memories, and more of the moments that matter most.

Thank you!

Major cheat code in life ~ part 1

Three major cheats coming up...

  1. Respond to anxious thoughts with 'noted, moving on'. Studies show that 91% of worries never actually happen. Your brain is worrying about a future that statistically won't happen.
  2. Dance/ walk/ run/ play sport/ move when your mind gets stuck. Overthinking happens when energy gets trapped. Movement gives it an exit route and your brain can finally reset.
  3. Talk to yourself in third person when you are spiralling/ feeling overwhelmed. Self-distancing turns down the emotion so you can actually think.

GCSE Contingency Sessions Summer 2026

Please note, the awarding bodies have designated the morning and afternoon sessions of Wednesday 24th June 2026 as ‘contingency sessions’.

These contingency sessions are designed to be used in the event of national or significant local disruption to examinations. This means that all exam candidates must be available to sit exams from the date of their first exam until Wednesday 24th June 2026. This decision is not a school decision and does apply to all candidates in all schools.
