Sailing Club

After the Easter holiday, we are hoping to start an after-school sailing club for students in Years 7 & 8 on Mondays at Danson Park.

Students have been sent a link to a Google form via their school email to express interest and to give us an idea of potential numbers. If you think your child might be interested, please ask them to check their email and complete the form.

The form at this stage is just an expression of interest – not a commitment, nor does it assure them a place. Further details for booking etc. will be sent out after half-term.

Thank you,

Mr Lines & Mim, Year 12

Your brain isn't built to make you happy

Your brain isn't built to make you happy, it's built to keep you alive.

That's why it clings to the one awkward moment, the one mistake, the one thing you wish you'd said/did differently.

Your brain thinks that 'threat spotting' equals safety.

But zoom out

  • The wins matter
  • Getting through hard moments
  • Not giving up
  • Learning
  • Regulating
  • Keeping going

The 'threat' was a moment, not a verdict and not your identity.

Reality is much more generous.

Safer Internet Day 2026

Tuesday 10th February marked Safer Internet Day 2026, with this year's theme about making smart choices with AI.

The UK Safer Internet Centre has some excellent resources to support parents and carers in conversations with children about their use of all manner of different devices and platforms, as well as with establishing clear boundaries and setting up controls.

GCSE Contingency Sessions Summer 2026

Please note, the awarding bodies have designated the morning and afternoon sessions of Wednesday 24th June 2026 as ‘contingency sessions’.

These contingency sessions are designed to be used in the event of national or significant local disruption to examinations. This means that all exam candidates must be available to sit exams from the date of their first exam until Wednesday 24th June 2026. This decision is not a school decision and does apply to all candidates in all schools.

Lost Property

2nd reminder: Any of the water bottles/pencil cases (shown below) not collected by the end of school on Friday 13th February will be disposed of.

Please may we remind parents/carers to write your child's name on all of their belongings so that we can return any lost items to them. If belongings are handed in to us, and they are named, we will contact the student directly, so please ask your child to check their school email account to see if we have messaged them. You can also click on the link here to report any lost property or email us directly via reception@bexleygs.co.uk.

Thank you
