Congratulations Irun! Winner of the 'Design the Headteacher's Christmas Card Competition' 2025

Congratulations to Irun Ghim, Year 7 on winning the design competition for the Headteacher's official Christmas card!

Irun's vibrant design truly stood out to the judges. The card is significant, as it was sent to all the important individuals in the borough connected to the school. A special pack of cards was prepared for him to take home.

A fantastic effort!

Not Every Invitation Needs a 'YES'!

December and the New Year can be overwhelming for many.

It's okay to keep this time period quiet, if that's what you need.

Prioritise your mental and physical health by setting boundaries, managing expectations and staying active with gentle exercise and outdoor time.

  • Set boundaries: It's okay to say 'no' to things that aren't helpful for you, even during the holidays.
  • Manage expectations: Have realistic expectations for family and social gatherings/ events. It's okay if your feelings don't match the festive mood; your feelings are valid.
  • Talk about your feelings: If you are feeling overwhelmed, talk to a trusted friend or family member. Reaching out can provide perspective and support.
  • Limit social media: Avoid comparing your own experience to the perfect, curated lives you see online.
  • Take time for yourself: Schedule breaks to relax, do something you enjoy, or simply rest. Make time for activities that bring you happiness.
  • Be kind to yourself: Don't feel guilty if you're not enjoying yourself or if your holiday looks different from others.
  • Stay active: Go for walks outdoors to get fresh air and exercise.
  • Prioritise sleep: Make sleep a priority to support both your mental and physical health.

This season hits harder for some. Remember to check in with yourself and others when you can.

Have a lovely last week of term and Christmas break.

GCSE Contingency Sessions Summer 2026

Please note, the awarding bodies have designated the morning and afternoon sessions of Wednesday 24th June 2026 as ‘contingency sessions’.

These contingency sessions are designed to be used in the event of national or significant local disruption to examinations. This means that all exam candidates must be available to sit exams from the date of their first exam until Wednesday 24th June 2026. This decision is not a school decision and does apply to all candidates in all schools.
