Year 9 Exams

Please see below the Year 9 exam timetable. The majority of the exams will be held in the Sports Hall with some being carried out in classrooms. As previously, there are revision sessions each day during which pupils will be able to choose the subject(s) they want to revise. Revision will be carried out independently and in silence to make sure all pupils are given the very best conditions to prepare for their exams. It is vital that students come prepared, and so they will need to bring a fully equipped, transparent pencil case (including equipment specific to certain subjects), revision materials they plan to use that day and a reading book. Please note that water bottles are allowed in the exam hall, but they must be transparent. If a disposable bottle is being used, the label must be removed.

Please note that all pupils will have one PE lesson over the course of the week and so will need their kit for that session. Pupils have been provided with a timetable for their specific teaching group via their Google Classroom.

During these exams, students will encounter the real exam settings and conditions they will experience over the course of Year 10 and Year 11. This experience will help to familiarise them with the formal assessment environment. I wish them all the best of luck for their revision.

Wear it Green Day ~ Thursday 15th May 2025

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and the focus this year is on community. As part of our celebration in school this week, Thursday 15th May, is Wear it Green Day. Students are invited to wear a green accessory in addition to their full school uniform to help raise awareness of that day.

(Please note this is NOT a non-uniform day - students must wear uniform but can add a green accessory).

Lost Property

Here is the latest lost property update and photos of jewellery that has recently been handed in.  If you recognise any items as belonging to your child, then please ask them to visit Reception to collect them.  We also kindly remind parents/carers that no jewellery, apart from a wristwatch, is permitted in school.

Please may we remind parents/carers to write your child's name on all of their belongings so that we can return any lost items to them. If belongings are handed in to us, and they are named, we will contact the student directly, so please ask your child to check their school email account to see if we have messaged them.

Please click on the link here to report lost property or email us directly via reception@bexleygs.co.uk.

Read for Good - Sponsored Read

This term I am launching a sponsored read for the charity Read for Good. Students can sign up to read as many books (or chapters of books) in 3 weeks as they can, and raise money for children's hospitals to be supplied with both books and readers. Any student wishing to take part can sign up in the library and collect a sponsorship pack.

For more information about what the charity does, please visit their website:
