Calling all volunteers
You can offer so much, your children are not the only members of the Bexley Grammar School Community, parents, carers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings etc – all are part of our wider community and all will have some skill or contact that can be of enormous help to all students.
For example, you may work for an organisation that does match funding, if so, all you need to do is volunteer at an event and whatever we raise at that event, your employers will match that funding. Some events we may only raise a few hundred, but what if we were able to raise a few thousand?

You may be a dab hand at making tea, mulled wine, baking a cake, designing posters/flyers/social media content or you may be a genius at coming up with fresh ideas that we can take forward.
You may run or are involved with a local, national or international organisation that you think Bexley Grammar School PA can benefit from a voluntary contribution or some form of partnership/sponsorship. We are open to all ideas.
Time we know is the most precious of commodities, but even a few hours in an academic year can go a long way. We are always looking for more parents to help out at events.
If you would like to lend a hand, please email Kathy Steele, Chair of the PA at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We now have a Facebook Page where we will post all events to, please feel free to like the page and share with friends.
So what do we do with the money raised?
Last year the amazing support from parents, teachers and students helped us raise £12,200 to enhance facilities for our young people. This, in addition to the previous year's fundraising £11,000), meant we were able to donate the amazing sums to the school. For example, we have donated recently £500 for cheerleading equipment and uniforms, £5,000 for iPads, £2,000 for data loggers for the Science Department, £500 for SEN notebooks, £9,000 to Science Department to purchase microscopes and £7,785 for Laser Cutters for Design and Technology. We have also earmarked £5,000 towards the redevelopment of the School Library. Every penny makes a difference.
